Daily Thoughts

“Of all the hardships a person had to face, none was more punishing than the simple act of waiting.”
― Khaled Hosseini, “A Thousand Splendid Suns”

Of all the things that a fangirl must endure, waiting for a new book, episode, or movie is probably the thing that gives fans the most grief. The anticipation is practically unbearable. At times, it feels like a piece of you is missing and it will only return when you finally know what happens to your characters. The worst of this occurs when your OTP (One True Pair) is put into great danger at the end of the last book, season, or movie. When you finish the story, it feels like the author or creator just took your heart and hit it repeatedly with a sledge hammer. One of the closest comparisons I can come up with is I feel how Oedipus felt when he found out his wife was his mother. Betrayed, miserable beyond compare, and heartbroken are all words that pretty much sum up how a fangirl feels after experiencing a horrible cliffhanger.
